Advanced Rocketry

< RETURN TO COURSES

Advanced rocketry is an exciting and outstanding means for teaching scientific and math concepts, vocabulary skills, critical thinking and problem solving and, the importance and benefits of collaborative teamwork. Students who have learned to construct rockets, are able to follow directions independently, read diagrams and work carefully and precisely, with the understanding that each step will result in the successful launching of their rocket. Students have the opportunity to move to Level 2 model rockets during this course. This is a great hands-on activity that can help “boost” your child’s imagination!

INSTRUCTOR

Gladys Dimino

Lower School World Language: Spanishgdimino@riverdale.edu

Ms. Dimino has been teaching children the joy of building model rockets since 1997. In her course, students learn how model rockets work (science), components of a rocket and their function, construction (math/science), how to assemble the rocket (following directions) and how to appreciate their hard work once they launch successfully.
